We envision a vibrant Oakland where historically marginalized communities shape their neighborhoods’ future, have equitable opportunities for healthy food and safe community spaces, and build community wealth.

Our Work
Through the combined efforts of our program areas, HOPE works to advance racial, economic, and health equity in Oakland’s food system and built environment through policy change, planning, and programs that increase residents’ access to healthy food and spaces. We are seeking a development consultant to sharpen our organizational fundraising strategies and expand our grant-writing capacity to sustain our work in the years ahead. The consultant should have proven success securing single- and multi-year grants that support community-based public health initiatives, including in the areas of food justice, environmental & climate justice, and/or neighborhood planning and power-building.
