HOPE Collaborative focuses our health equity efforts in the following areas:
HOPE’s Food Systems work builds a sustainable local economy and healthy, locally grown food system that ensures equitable access to fresh, healthy, affordable, local food throughout Oakland’s most vulnerable neighborhoods.
HOPE’s Built Environment program promotes policies that create safe, attractive spaces for physical activity in Oakland neighborhoods, and ensures that health plays a role in city planning.
Community and Youth Engagement
HOPE’s Civic and Youth Engagement work sustains community leadership and ownership within the Collaborative by building the leadership capacities of community members and engaging youth in leading significant systems change.
