Our Food Justice programs work with corner stores, small business owners, schools, resident leaders, youth, and other key stakeholders to increase the availability of nutritious, affordable food and create a more equitable food system in Oakland through community- and youth-led initiatives, education, and policymaking.
Our programs:
Meals for HOPE - Food Recovery and DistributionThe Meals for HOPE program works with resident leaders to recover and extend the shelf life of food that would otherwise go to waste from farmers’ markets, grocery stores, and food services and transforms that food into healthy meals and value-added products for community members.
